The Community Forum
Ask a public question, share how you solved something, and read what other SphereHarness users have found. Anyone can read the forum; you need a SphereHarness account to post, and every topic and every reply is checked by a moderator before anybody else sees it.
Reading
The forum is at sphereharness.io/forum. Reading needs no account. Topics are grouped in categories: Announcements, General, Inventor, NX, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Skills & automation, and Organisation server. Use the search box to find approved topics; pinned topics stay at the top of their category.
Posting a topic or a reply
- Sign in with your SphereHarness account (a trial account is fine).
- The first time you post, choose your public name. It is what other people see next to your posts and, if you publish in the marketplace, as the publisher. It is 3 to 30 characters (letters, digits, spaces,
-,_and.), it must be unique, it can never be an e-mail address, and you choose it once. Your e-mail address is never shown anywhere in the forum. - Open a category and press New topic, or press Reply under a topic. Write a title (8 to 150 characters) and your text.
- Complete the verification box if it asks you to (see Sign-in protection and spam checks), then post.
Only website administrators can start a topic in Announcements; anyone can reply there.
Approval: why your post is not visible yet
Every topic and every reply waits for a moderator. Until it is approved, you see it marked Awaiting approval and nobody else sees it — not in the category, not in search, not in the sitemap. When a moderator decides, you get a notice in your notification inbox: approved, or rejected with the reason. Moderators are SphereHarness website administrators.
If you edit a post that was already approved, it goes back to Awaiting approval until a moderator has looked at the change.
What you can write
- Markdown: paragraphs, headings, bold, italic,
inline code, fenced code blocks, lists, quotes and links. - No HTML: anything that looks like HTML is shown as text, never run.
- No pictures or attachments. Put a picture somewhere you control and paste a link to it.
- Links must start with
http://,https://ormailto:. They open in a new tab and are marked as user content, so search engines do not follow them. - Up to 20,000 characters, 10 links and 20 code blocks per post.
Limits
- 5 new topics and 30 replies a day per account, and one post every 30 seconds.
- An account younger than 24 hours can start 2 topics a day.
Editing and deleting your posts
- You can edit your post for 60 minutes after you post it. An edit of an approved post is checked again.
- You can delete your post at any time; it is then shown as “removed by the author”.
- My posts lists everything you posted with its state, and lets you download everything you posted as a JSON file.
- A moderator can remove a post; you see the reason, nobody else does. A moderator can also lock a topic (no more replies) or pin it.
Reporting a post
Signed in, press Report on any post, choose a reason (spam, malicious, a credential, copyright, offensive, other) and add a note of up to 500 characters if it helps. The report goes to the moderators. A post reported by three different people is hidden until a moderator has looked at it.
The rules
The community rules apply to every post: be civil, stay on topic, no spam or advertising, no personal data of other people, no credentials, nothing you do not have the right to publish. A moderator can reject or remove a post that breaks them, and can mute an account (it can read but not post, for a set time) or ban it from the forum (its posts are removed).
Your posts and your privacy
Forum posts are stored on our server — unlike messages you relay from Teams or WhatsApp, which are never stored. We keep your topics, replies, edits and reports together with your public name; your IP address is not stored with a post. When you delete your SphereHarness account you choose what happens to your approved posts: keep them, shown as written by “deleted user” (the default, so an answered question stays useful), or delete them too. The privacy policy lists what is kept and for how long.
Common questions
Why can't I see the reply I just posted?
Only you can see it until a moderator approves it. You get a notice when that happens.
The post button stays grey.
The verification box has not finished. Wait a moment; if it says it could not load, reload the page. See Sign-in protection and spam checks.
Can my reseller see my posts before they are approved?
No. Only SphereHarness website administrators moderate the forum. For a private question to your reseller, open a support request instead.
Can I change my public name?
Not yourself. Write to support if you need it changed.
