Downloads
Where the installers are, which ones you are offered, how far back the versions go, and how you find out that a newer build exists.
Where the page is
Sign in to the portal and open Downloads. The page opens with one line that tells you what it holds:
Every installer you are entitled to is listed under its own heading, newest first, with Version, Released, Size and SHA-256 in the table and a Download button on each row. The current build carries a Latest badge. Any release notes the publisher wrote appear under the product.
What you are offered
- Only the CAD systems on your licence. Hold one and you are offered that one. A CAD system you have not bought is not listed — not hidden behind a message, simply not there.
- Desktop agent (no CAD add-in). The agent's own installer, for a PC without a CAD system. It is offered when you hold a desktop-agent-only licence or any CAD licence. You do not need it on a PC where you install a CAD system: every CAD installer carries the agent.
- The three most recent versions of each installer. Anything older is available on request — see below. On a trial the page offers the latest version only, and older versions cannot be requested.
- Not a CAD system the administrator has hidden. Hiding is a decision about what the site offers, not about your licence: a licence you already hold keeps working, but a fresh installer for it is not offered while it is hidden.
“Your organisation has not assigned you a seat yet”
You may see a line under a product saying your organisation holds that licence but has not given you a seat. You can still install the add-in. The seat governs running it, not fetching it — the add-in will ask for a seat the first time you use it. Ask your organisation administrator to assign you one; see Licences and pricing.
How far back the versions go
Each installer is listed with its three most recent versions: the one badged Latest and the two before it. Below the list the page says so: “The 3 most recent versions of each installer are offered here.” When a new version is published, the oldest of the three drops off the list. It is not deleted — it just is no longer offered by default, and it cannot be fetched by guessing an address either.
Request an older version
If you need a version older than the three on the page — a plant certified on a particular build, say — use Request an older version at the bottom of the Downloads page. Choose the product, type the version (for example 1.3.3.0) and, if you like, say why. Pressing Request this version opens a support request; you will find it, and the answer, under your support requests like any other.
When the request is approved, the version appears on your Downloads page under Older versions granted to you, with the date it is available until — seven days. It is granted to your account only, and only while your licence covers that product: the same checks as every other download run again when you press Download.
The download link
Pressing Download asks the server for a private link that is valid for 10 minutes and then goes straight to storage — the portal never carries the installer bytes itself. If the transfer has not started within those ten minutes, or you saved the link and came back to it later, it stops working: press Download again for a fresh one. Every link issued, and every one refused, is recorded.
The link is tied to your sign-in and is meant for a direct download in your browser. Let the browser save the file.
The download says Unauthorized / 400 / 403
The storage refused the link. The usual causes are a download manager, a proxy or an antivirus that checks the link before your browser fetches it — it sends an extra HEAD request, which the storage answers with 403 — or that rewrites or shortens the link (a link without its signature part gets 400). A link older than ten minutes is refused too.
What to do: press Download again for a fresh link, and let the browser download it directly (pause the download manager's browser integration for this site, or ask IT to let *.r2.cloudflarestorage.com through the proxy unchanged). The installer's SHA-256 on the row lets you check the file afterwards.
Checking what you downloaded
The SHA-256 printed on the row is computed by the server from the file it stored, not taken from whoever uploaded it. If your IT policy requires a checksum, compare it after downloading:
Checking the signature
Every installer is signed by PLM CAD UTILITIES AS. Right-click the downloaded .msi → Properties → Digital Signatures to see it. See Signed installers.
The current versions
As of 26 September 2026 no installer is published. Version 1.3.3 is the first release offered to users, and it is coming soon; until then the Downloads page says No release available yet. Earlier builds are withdrawn and cannot be requested.
The page itself is always the authority: the row badged Latest is the current version of that installer.
When the page says there is nothing
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No downloads available | Your subscription is not in a state that allows downloads — a trial that has run out, a suspended or a cancelled subscription. The panel names the status. | Renew or reactivate. The panel links the plans and support. |
| No release available yet | Your subscription is fine, but no installer has been published for the CAD systems on your licence yet — a new release is coming soon. | Nothing. The page lists the release as soon as it is out, and an installed agent tells you too. |
| A CAD system missing from the list | You do not hold a licence for it, or an administrator has hidden it. | See Licences and pricing, or ask your organisation administrator. |
| “That version is no longer offered” | That build is older than the three the page offers, and it has not been granted to you (or the grant has run out). | Take a version the page lists, or request that version. |
These are deliberately three different messages, because they need three different actions: renew, buy that CAD system, take the version the page lists (or request it).
Finding out that a new version exists
You do not have to watch the page. Everything you have installed checks once a day whether a newer build has been published.
- The desktop agent raises a tray balloon headed Update available: “SphereHarness 1.3.0.0 is available (you have 1.2.0.0) — download it from the portal”. One balloon per new version, not one per check.
- Settings → Account shows the same line, with Open the downloads page next to it, and Version 1.2.0.0 installed. when you are current.
- Each CAD add-in mentions it once per session, on the status bar or in its own log, wherever that CAD system has somewhere to put a line.
Installing what you downloaded
Close the CAD application first, run the installer, then start the CAD application again. Every installer carries the desktop agent and the shared components, so the second one you run reuses them instead of installing a second copy. See Installing SphereHarness.
